Technology is a critical part of the MIAMI Institute. We use FDA-approved devices to get consistent results but also offer a safe and comfortable procedure for our patients. Today's advanced devices are designed to use non-invasive and minimally-invasive techniques that stimulate the body's ability to heal itself, rejuvenate and appear more youthful.
For example, technology is key in our industry-leading hair restoration results, ensuring each individual hair follicle will take root. Energy-based body contouring uses the newest generation of proven technology, delivering more power and amazing comfort for measurable results. Beyond procedures, we use technology to monitor our accredited operating rooms and patient recovery areas. We take full advantage of wireless and cloud-based systems to communicate here in the office, stay in contact with our patients and seamlessly manage vendors and inventory.
Technology plays a role in every aspect of our specialty practice and we take great pride that we have the latest and best-in-class machines and medical devices anywhere.

The MIAMI Institute is a leader in cosmetic technology, investing in effective and safe energy based treatments using lasers, radio frequency and other non-surgical procedures.
eTwo – Sublative. Used for skin resurfacing, this device delivers fractionated, bi-polar radiofrequency for deep dermal heating of the treated area. It mildly injures tissue, which stimulates a healing response. The procedure boosts collagen production and cellular turnover for smoother, rejuvenated skin.
Indications for the use of eTwo – Sublative include:
A series of 4 treatments about one month apart are recommended for best results.
eTwo-Sublime. For skin tightening, it uses both infrared light and bipolar radiofrequency. Two levels of the dermis are deep-heated, stimulating collagen production. Five treatments, one month apart, are recommended for best results.
Gentle Max Pro. This system uses True Laser technology to address and treat many concerns. The device has two wavelengths of light, adjustable to accommodate a spectrum of skin types and ethnicities. It is used for:
The Gentle Max Pro includes a dynamic cooling device which sprays the skin just before and after the laser is applied. The treatment is very comfortable and there is little to no downtime.
NeoGraft FUE. This device is the new, and only, follicular unit harvesting and implantation procedure for hair restoration approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). One follicle at a time is removed from the graft section. The harvesting tool creates a 0.8mm graft, which is virtually painless; it doesn’t require anesthesia, and leaves no linear scar, as did older procedures. About 2000 hair follicles are transferred per session, over 3-8 hours. Results are apparent from the first session.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). A small amount of the patient’s blood is centrifuged, to extract the component called plasma, which also has a high concentration of platelets. The plasma is then injected into the face, or any other areas where rejuvenation is desired. PRP can also be used to stimulate hair rejuvenation. Although, anecdotal, many patients see great results in hair thickening and regrowth with as little as 5 treatments.
NeoGraft–PRP. The PRP is applied to the area from which the grafts were taken, speeding healing. PRP is also injected into the transplant area. The results of combining these methods is remarkable. It speed hair growth, not just in the implanted follicles, but in the surrounding follicles as well. The patient can return to normal activity within a week.
Profound. The Profound system is a minimally invasive device which delivers energy as bipolar radiofrequency, deep into the reticular dermis. The tissue is stimulated to produce collagen and elastin , and to increase the production of hyaluronic acid – all essential components of healthy skin. Profound can be used on the face and neck.. It improves wrinkles and promotes skin tightening. The most common effect is swelling which subsides over 5-7 days. There is little to no discomfort after the procedure. Appearance improves over time, with the maximum effect seen at 3 months.
Thermage. A particular radiofrequency is used for deep dermal heating, in areas of skin laxity. The energy stimulates production of new collagen, strengthening the supportive framework of the skin. It’s used for wrinkles on the face, eyelid laxity, and laxity on areas of the body (abdomen, knees, arms).
Ultrashape. A transducer delivers focused, pulsed ultrasound which destroys fat cells in the targeted area in as little as three treatments. Supermode is available for patients who desire even faster results. The FDA has cleared it for abdominal circumference reduction.
Candidates for the procedure include patients who:
The system causes deep heating of fat cells and surrounding connective tissue and increases dermal collagen production. The shrinking of the fat cells with softening of the connective tissue, and greater dermal collagen production:
VelaShape III can be used in patients whose health/medical history is consistent with a healthy liver.
Vectra 3D Imaging. Six high resolution photos are taken simultaneously from different angles, forming a composite image which is ready for viewing in seconds. The finest details are visible, which the surgeon can use to manipulate the body/face area of interest or facial features. It allows the patient to visualize the potential outcome(s). This technology is used for facelifts, chin implants, brow lifts, and many other treatments.
