Volume loss is a vital component in many facial rejuvenation programs. Patients who have experienced loss of volume, principally fat loss, in their face will benefit greatly from Fat Transfers (fat grafting). The mid-face is recognized as one of the most important areas to restore lost volume. Many people also seek fat transfers to enhance other areas where deficiencies exist including the buttock and breasts. At The MIAMI Institute we use a tiny 2mm cannula to extract fat from one area of your body and use it to augment cheek bones, lips and contour an aging face.
"Contour gives way to all things beautiful"
Fat transfer, also called autologous fat transplantation or micro-lipoinjection, plumps up facial features with a patient's own fat and is a popular alternative to other wrinkle correction. One of the most successful new advancements, fat is removed from one area of the body, often the stomach, and injected into the face. Performed under local anesthesia to numb both the area where the fat is harvested and where it is inserted into the face. The fat is removed using vacuum-type suction. The fat is then processed to eliminate excess fluid before it is re-injected into the face along the lines drawn prior to surgery. Fat transfer to the lip area is a safe, natural, non-allergenic procedure designed to contour and provide definition. Since fat transfer uses your own fat cells, you can never have an allergic reaction, as it is taken from your own body.
The results from fat transfer are remarkable. The procedure takes years off your face.
