BUTTOCK AUGMENTATION PROCEDURE

The Buttock Augmentation procedure is generally performed under general anesthesia and lasts approximately an hour and a half to two hours. Additional benefit to Buttock Augmentation is the transfer of fat from donor sites giving the patient the opportunity to contour an additional site. There is a significant chance of fat absorption within 6-8 weeks of the surgery and it cannot be predicted prior to surgery. If this occurs, a second grafting is necessary.

BUTTOCK AUGMENTATION PREPARATION

In preparation for surgery, it is important to be very open with your medical history and provide a complete list of medication including prescriptions, vitamins and herbs.

  • Discontinue using blood thinners and anti-inflammatories that could interfere with blood clotting such as Ibuprofen, Naprosyn, St. John's Wort, Vitamin E and Aspirin. A better choice would be Tylenol.
  • Stop smoking and drinking alcohol at least two weeks prior and one week after surgery.
  • Be sure to arrange for someone to drive you to and from surgery and to stay with you for at least the first night following surgery.

BUTTOCK AUGMENTATION POST-PROCEDURE

You will experience some brusing, swelling and mild pain. Discomfort is mild and can easily be controlled with pain medication prescribed by your physician. Although you'll notice immediate results, buising and swelling may last for more than a month. You will be able to sit soon after your surgery. You can expect to return to work within 3-5 days and wear a compression garment for 1-2 weeks.
