Testosterone Pellet Implantation
Testosterone. Delivered.

Testosterone Pellet Implantation is a safe and effective way of testosterone delivery. Inserted subcutaneously under the skin of the upper buttocks in a few minutes, these pellets deliver constant levels of hormones without  the fluctuations that may be seen in other routes of administration.

At The MIAMI Institute, we use a 75 mg pellet, the only FDA-approved product. The number of pellets used for men vary but are usually between 8 to 10. Women use between 1 and 2. Their optimal testosterone levels last 4 to 5 months in men and 2.5 to 4 in women. The levels of testosterone are measured before and after implantation.

In Women

Testosterone Pellets in women improve libido, decrease fat, and improve mood and lethargy. This form of treatment does not increase the risk of breast cancer.  It can be used to treat pre-menstrual syndrome not responsive to other types of therapy. A recent study has shown that "Testosterone, delivered by subcutaneous pellet implant has been shown to improve hot flashes, sleep problems, depressive mood, irritability, anxiety, physical fatigue, memory loss, sexual problems, bladder problems (incontinence), vaginal dryness, joint and muscular discomfort in both premenopausal and post-menopausal patients without adverse drug events" (Glaser 09).

In Men

The benefits of testosterone pellet implantation in men who have ADAM syndrome or Andropause is vital. Testosterone causes the body to make protein, which then in turn makes muscle. It manufactures bone. Testosterone helps control blood sugar, regulate cholesterol and maintain the immune system. Testosterone has also been associated with the ability to concentrate and improve mood. Testosterone Pellet Implantation has a very low incidence of side effects.

Proper initial hormone levels and subsequent monitoring is always required.
