Many patients can benefit from augmentation of the prejowl sulcus area without any need for augmentation in the area of the chin. Pre-jowl implants provide a benefit for those patients who need augmentation in the prejowl sulcus, as well as in the chin area. The Pre-jowl implants aim to provide a better transition between the chin and jowl area and to provide a bolder, more youthful-appearing mandible. The result can be a clean, smooth jaw line and an appearance of less mandibular absorption. With the use of these implants, the jowl is made to appear less prominent, or not at all prominent. Filling this groove also gives the illusion of less soft tissue atrophy in this area and therefore a less prominent marionette line.

Recovery:
Back to work: 1 to 2 weeks. Normal social, recreational, travel activities 2-3 weeks. More strenuous activities: 2 to 3 weeks. Avoid more strenuous impact exercises or activities and direct sun exposure 6-8 weeks.
